Infertility means Not being able to get pregnant after one year or six months of trying. And if a woman is 35 years or older who can get pregnant but unable to carry a pregnancy to full term, may also be infertile.

Causes of infertility in men.

The main cause of male infertility is a
lack of healthy sperm and absence of sperm
in the semen (azoospermia) in which sperm production is normal, but the sperm ducts are obstructed.

Sometimes a man is born with the problems that affect his sperm, Other problems start later in life due to illness or injury’s. For example, cystic fibrosis often causes infertility in men.

Blockage of sperm transport: Blockages (obstructions) in the tubes leading sperm away from the testes to the penis can cause a complete lack of sperm in the ejaculated semen.

varicocele : This happens when the veins on a man’s testicles are too large. This heats the testicles. The heat can affect the number or shape of the sperm.

Men need to get enough rest and eat healthy food to make enough
sperm. Men who are under a lot of stress might not make healthy
sperm.

Sperm Production Problems : The most common cause of male infertility is due to a problem in the sperm production, Low numbers of sperm are made or the sperm that are made do not work properly. A number of factors can disrupt the production of sperm including undescended testis, infections such as mumps, heat, sperm antibodies, torsion, varicocele, drugs or radiation damage.

• Smoking cigarettes

• Heavy alcohol intake can also hurt a man’s sperm

• Environmental toxins, including pesticides and lead and bug killer can effect sperm

• Health problems such as mumps, serious conditions like kidney disease, or hormone problems
